HOW TO COUNT ACTUAL RETURN USING EXCEL

Many programme package that compatible to market stock purpose. In this article, we want to show you something else. We offer Microsoft Excel as tool that very useful for market stock purpose. Here, we show you how to count actual return by Microsoft Excel.

1. Open Microsoft Excel
2. Please write closing price t in one of cell in worksheet, for example in cell C4
3. Write closing price t – 1 (one day before period t) in cell B4
4. Then write this =(C4-B4)/B4 in cell E4
5. If you do right, you’ll see like this:

So if you entry closing price 1100 in C4 and 1000 in B4, Microsoft calculate that return stock in periode t is 0,1 that means, investor receive return 10 persen in periode t.

You can copy that formula, by Ctrl+C and pasting to another cell that you want by Ctrl+V. You can to count actual return many stock as you want.
